NASHVILLE WIMMIN'
WAYLON JENNINGS
****DROPPED "D" TUNING****

Transcribed by Casey Newbold - Kerr (hosshead@waylonjennings.cjb.net)

VERSE ONE:
    D
If it wasn't for the powder, and the fine-tooth comb
          G D
If it wasn't for the powder, the paint, and the fine-tooth comb
                 A D
You know them Nashville Wimmin' might as well stay home

TAB:
D----2-2-2-3s4-4---2-2-2-3s4-4---5-5-5-5-5-4-3-2-0-0-0--0h2s4-0h2s4-0h2s4-0h2s4-
-2s4--5-5-5---4-3-2-2-0
S: slide to (EG: 3s4 = start at 3 and slide to 4)

That's pretty much the main parts of it. There's notes between the ones I've
got, but you can probably make those up :-)

VERSE TWO:
If the blues was booze, I'd stay drunk all the time
If the blues was booze, you know I'd stay drunk all the time
Hangin' out at the ??????, drinkin' you off my mind

VERSE THREE:
Goin' down to the alley to see what I can find
Goin' down to ?????? alley and look around and see what I can find
Let some long-time woman take me home and blow my mind

VERSE FOUR:
Well, you long-legged girl, now you sure don't have to talk
Long-legged, good lookin' thing, you don't have to talk
I can tell that you're from Nashville -- the boogie-woogie wiggle in your
walk

VERSE FIVE (Spoken):
Lookie here now, as Jerry Lee, "The Killer" would say
Honey, I want you to get down... all the way down... one time... for me
See there, Hoss? Us cowboy singers can do it too! Boogie-De, Boogie-De,
Boogie-De

REPEAT VERSE FOUR, THEN MORE GUITAR...

You can play verse five with the chords or you can just use "D" the whole way
through. "D" sounds better...

There's more little lead parts like the one I put after Verse One between
verses, but they're different from that. To be honest, I couldn't really be
bothered working them out, and I usually just make them up as I go along when I
play it
;)
